HI.i will report a bug. NOw when i use ShockWave Skill I must stop attacks to recharge my PP. Before undating i could Spawn my Shock Wave skill without Stop because it autamatically recharge PP meanwhile i was attacking. Now I MUST STOP attack to recharge MY PP.

To clarify, the issue is more so that black holes disappear when spamming Psychic Shockwave (Kinesis's main attacking pattern). Psychic Shockwave is a two-part skill that first launches a long-range large attack, with leaves a black hole at the end of its path. Using battle analysis, you can see the black hole does not spawn when repeatedly using Psychic Shockwave.

As part of the v202 patch notes, Psychic Shockwave is changed such that there is only one black hole at a time:
"There can only be one 'Micro Black Hole', which is created after Kinesis uses 'Psychic Shockwave'. "

This seems to be the main change in the skill's functionality. Previously, there was a "somewhat one-black hole but not really" concept going on: each black hole that came out would instantly tick at least once (doing damage and regenerating PP) before disappearing because a new one was spawned. Effectively, you could have two to three "ghost black holes" out at once with fast enough attack speed. The multiple ghost black holes is the initial iteration of the bug and was the same on KMS and GMS.

(The ghost black holes would disappear before its full duration, afaict, so it's as if it was trying to go for a one-black hole thing but not actually in practice. It's difficult to see exactly how Shockwave works/worked because Shockwave launches off the Kinesis's screen, doesn't have obvious visuals, is very fast, and it's hard to tell if the black hole is actually there or just an Aries visual bug.)

It seems that with this patch, the despawn rate of the black holes was made instant, so you cannot have ghost black holes, leading to a huge hit on Kinesis's PP regen and dps. However, this results in every cast of Shockwave attempting to spawn a new black hole, overwriting the previous cast, leading to no black holes at all until you stop casting new shockwaves.

I don't have a GMS account, so I don't know exactly how the functionality is. The reason I think this is unintentional behaviour on Aries's side (besides that this makes the skill unusable in Kinesis's attack pattern) is because of a bug fix in the same patch:
"Fixing an issue where the black hole would be removed when Kinesis's Psychic Shockwave was used consecutively with key down."

This appears to be the exact situation that's happening at the moment on Aries.

So there's 3 possibilities I can think of happening here:
  • Everything is intentional behaviour on GMS and the patch notes are just really crap/misleading
  • Psychic Shockwave is meant to still have the "ghost tick" it had before instead of completely not spawning as it is now - Aries implemented the black hole change but not the accompanying bug fix?
  • Psychic Shockwave is not meant to spawn a new black hole every cast, but only spawn a black hole if there is no black hole on the map, allowing the previous one to fully tick and regen PP/do damage - same as above + ambiguous wording on patch notes, typical Aries bug that can't be fixed
Now a bit of contextual clues on Psychic Shockwave is KMST's winter balancing notes where they nerf the skill's damage, and also change the black hole functionality (ignore the damage changes, bullet == shockwave):
"Psychic Bullet: damage has been decreased from 1600% to 1100%, Micro Black Hole’s damage has been increased from 700% to 1000%, now if you use Psychic Bullet while a Micro Black Hole is still active the existing Micro Black Hole will not disappear and a new Micro Black Hole will not be created"


The GMS patch is a custom change, and to my minimal knowledge of KMS->GMS changes, has never happened on KMS. Most likely, it seems like a half-step towards the KMS winter update sans damage nerf, so the third possibility above is not far-fetched. At the same time, the wording on the change suggests that the black hole would previously disappear and constantly be replaced by each new Shockwave, which is how it is at the moment, though it'd be strange to purposely implement a version that will be overturned later on. There's a likelihood of either the first or third possibility listed above, so I can't confidently say it's an Aries bug, but would still like to have it looked into.

Now, the more important PP regen bug with Psychic Shockwave that's been around since it was released: the initial hit of the shockwave (not the black hole) is meant to regen 1 PP, BUT IT DOESN'T. It should be cost 3 on cast, recover 1 on hit, recover up to 3 on black hole ticks, to my understanding.

Basically it's all an intentional GMS change.

Skip to the dojo part to see a clear showcase of how it's supposed to regen PP, how the black hole does not tick until you stop using the skill, and a brief mention of the black hole functionalities pre/post-patch I detailed in my post. The Psychic Shockwave not returning 1 PP on hit is the main problem, on top of the up to 4 (it seems to be 4 from the video? though description says it only hits 3 times) from the black hole.

do you think aries would fix this problem?

It's rip kinesis for a few months until (hopefully) GMS implements the KMS winter update change. Still worse than before but at least usable.

Need to fix the current no 1PP regen on initial shockwave bug
