Alrighty.

So, This might sound like a stupid question with the reply just being - "Just play a class you Enjoy"

And yes - that Is possible but I really don't know - I have tried out most every class and really did not enjoy one .-.

But I really don't know what my issue is - due to the fact that I really like logging in and playing .-. but then I just get incredibly board and sign off like 30mins later.. and this posses happens although out the day.

I have done most all my links ( the better ones ) to lv 120.

But I don't know I guess it is hard starting out .-. Getting Drop rate gear or what not to be able to start farming and MP or what not. IU have like 6k Stats right now.

But I keep selling my gear and switching classes .-.
And what I have been told is Monster Park is a really good way to make money Early on once you get enough drop % to farm there.
But what are the good classes for it? Besides Hayato (I dont like them).

But yea, I don't really know what to do.
Plus with like the Market being really $$$ for like STR/LUK Classes I tend to wanna lean away from them.

So my Current thoughts are Dex Pirate ( I have STR Pirate rn ) Or any INT class or any DEX Bowman classes!

Thanks for the help :)

I'm just going to answer the title.

Some invest so much time and effort into one character that you're practically stuck with it if you don't feel like doing the same with a fresh new character. For example I have a friend with a p50 merc, but she doesn't really enjoy playing merc. I guess you can think of being married to your character, and your accomplishments on that character are your children, and you don't divorce to spare your children.

Also, there's really not much to do besides bossing and farming and maybe some extra content like Tower of Oz, so if you're not into socializing yea it's going to get boring.

My best advice for you is to pay attention to this. You aren't enjoying playing the game, at least for long periods of time. If no class appeals to you, then why kick a dead horse? Find a game you like more. Or just spend less time playing so you don't burn out.

It could be that you aren't interested in leveling classes because they're too easy. What about one that's challenging? Maybe blaster, zero or cadena, etc? Those will take you weeks to months to master. Or what about one that uses combos (and doesn't just hold the same skill), like Aran, Thunder Breaker, Evan,Mercedes, etc? Or one with an interesting mechanic to do damage, like Mihile's Royal Guard?

If none of these appeal to you, really ask yourself why you play and if your time would be better spent elsewhere. Cheers

Who's there?
Its not classes themselves, it's the game.

Hear me out:

In my opinion, Maplestory has an inflated, artificial gameplay experience and is only 'fun' for a set period of time. There's very little activities to do in-game that actually take time, these are merching (?), bossing, farming / grinding and socializing.

Merching: Maplestory's economy is bad in general so as you can imagine, it's probably worse on a private server. Merching is fairly easy in this game as making mesos is pretty simple and mostly everyone gets desperate when they want an item.

Bossing: Probably the most fun activity in-game.. restricted by caps. One or two tries for a boss a day. In Aries you can probably do all bosses (that your range permits) in under one hour.

Grinding or Farming: Feels like a chore. Regardless of the class you're playing, you WILL get bored after grinding for a few hours. (This is likely what OP is experiencing).

Socializing: Is this a thing anymore? Progression is so fast it seems Maplestory has left behind socializing for the most part. I mean, why would I kill ndamien with a friend if only one of us is gonna get a twisted stigma stone? Why would I duo chaos horntail if I can do it by myself and keep the potential ring drop all to myself? Why would I stand in FM chillin' with friends while my familiar's vitality and my pvac timer are running low. The game itself discourages party play except for hellux maybe but then again, it isn't really party play when 5 people afk and one does all the work, right?

I know I'm speaking my mind here and this is just my opinion but I'm sure some can relate to what I've said above. Assuming the above is true... then what keeps you interested?

Well, lets go back to the beginning shall we? first, you look up a class and find something you like (it may be dpm, flashy moves, mobility, you wanna look cool, their attacking style or anything really) and think to yourself 'wow I'm gonna make a very powerful ____ class' and start off trying to improve your gear and levels. Progression feels fairly fast at first so you keep going, we're humans and we try to optimize what we do so taking this route is understandable. The issue is... being successful in Maplestory relies mostly on luck (when mchaosing, cubing, flaming, boss drops) more than skill. That's the artificial gameplay I speak about: You spend meso and cubes hoping for a good roll and when it doesn't go your way, you ended up losing mesos, scrolls and/or cubes so you must go get more. How though? you already did your boss runs so what is left to be done? That's right, you guessed it: farming. Grab your drop/meso gear fellas because we're in for a fun time grinding mp or high spawn maps for a few hours. You keep going, further improving yourself every day until you've got 30-40k stats. By then, most of your gear will be scrolled and with decent main and bonus potentials. Now, in my opinion at least, is when it gets insanely boring (even more so than before). 1K cubes and about 500m mesos to roll 27%+ stat lines or billions of mesos buying a finished item for a slight range increase. Endless hours grinding, purchasing dp for extra slots, going for 15 stars enhancements, all in hopes to perfect your gear so it takes 30 seconds to kill a boss compared to the 38 seconds it used to take you before.

So in the end... Are we having fun or is it more like a chore to get better?

tl;dr: Are you truly having fun playing this game or is it the feeling of progression that you love that makes you keep playing?

IMO Maple is more about
- Socializing with other people
- Doing bosses together and having a good laugh (if and when you fail)
- the satisfaction you get from helping others.

Of course it helps when you have a good guild to chat with! Sometimes you also get user event's like Dong's Halloween Event which help to bring the community together

Best is to find a class you like to play! for example i really love my Marksman! It wasnt my first character, but it's now my main character!

Good luck, and i hope you find a class you love!
