As the title suggests, I think we should implement this.
With regards to being scammed over inno svc, there has been a spike in people getting scammed.
Right now all we do is simply report them and the user gets banned (with the victim's item)
My suggestion is that should the report be verified, and the user be banned, is there a way that a staff member could generate the exact same item and give it back to the victim?
This is of course, assuming the victim has a clear screenshot of the item that got scammed, and the report has been verified.
Imo, such a system could potentially help in the long run as I would be less afraid of purchasing inno svc from strangers.
If there are any loopholes or if anyone can see something going wrong with this, I welcome your thoughts in the comments below.

Please keep the thoughts constructive, I'm suggesting this for a better Aries.

Sorry Spyro, I know you said there were loopholes and stuff but I think there should be a discussion on this, what kind of potential loopholes, how we can patch up those loopholes and how we can all help contribute to a better Aries community.

Consider the following situation:
- Item was scammed during an Inno service.
- Item was sold to an unknown player B for a certain amount of mesos.
- Item was further resold to multiple other players.
- Scammer is eventually banned, but only after multiple transactions were made.

If the GM does pursue item recovery as you mentioned, what happens to all the intermediate players then? Do they need to give back the gear and then get compensated for mesos? Is this fair if they had sold off their other gear to get the mesos to buy the item in the first place?
If the GM just generates the item as mentioned, then you'll end up with the situation of dupes.

I'm not going to go into how this system can be exploited to dupe items indefinitely but you should see how this is possible.

It doesn't even need to be inno service, it can be something more general like being hacked but the idea is still the same.

However how many times could an item potentially be resold within a 48 hour period?

I understand where you're coming from about the dupes. As such in order to counteract that, instead of generating could we remove the item from the buyer, give him back the mesos he bought and return the item to the victim?

The scenario that we have now is "scammer gets banned, his mesos and items are gone. Victim doesn't get his item back"
What I'm proposing is a " localised mesos/items rollback" for everyone involved in the transaction.

Yes I'm sure there'll be players who get annoyed at this system, but if they ever get scammed, I'm sure they'll be glad we have this system in place. If we put ourselves in the victim's shoes, I'm sure they'll understand why I suggested this.

What about giving items a cool down period before it will be allowed to be traded again? so that if a report is being made with evidences, a rollback will be much simpler?

I'm not talking about small transactions, maybe implement this suggestion when the transactions contains any of the following:
-Equipments
-Mesos above 10b
-Cash items

This list can go on but what do u guys think of this suggestion? is this considered a feasible idea or not?

seems bad tho on this part. i lend friend an equip of me so he can do his bosses, or so he can do his 5th job quest. Now i wont be able to get it back for x time period. same with lending someone an nx item so they can try it out.

I am not sure about returning items since it seems controversial

But I totally agree there must be some safeguard or at least partial compensation for those who lost their items because of scams

Taken from Terms of Service:
7. WRONGFUL PURCHASE/COMPENSATION
Items lost during a trade due to a full inventory, trying to hold two (2) one-of-a-kind items and/or from a victim of scam will not be refunded. This also applies to the rare events of rollbacks as well as purchasing wrong items from any shops within the server. We will not give compensations, do not ask for it.

While I do think that it's a good idea for some compensation to be in place, I don't know if there would be a way to implement it without it either being abused or making a ton of work for the staff. Implementing a cooldown on trades would be unrealistic, as stated above, as well as the fact that if it was a character cooldown or even an account cooldown, they could easily bypass that (even using auction house would work) and if the item did exchange hands frequently, the staff would have to track down every player the scammed items went through and "reset the trade". In that case, it would be easier to make inno scrolls tradeable to prevent most of the scams, like they supposedly did with mp boxes, as that's one of the main sources of scamming recently.

I'll take these into mind and see if i can somehow work out how a system of how we can work around these with the goal of being fair to the victim in mind.
The only reason i came up with this suggestion is due to the rise of inno service scams i've seen recently.
As the player base is shrinking as well, my thought was to perhaps prevent "being scammed" the reason they quit Aries.

Once again, thank you all for your constructive inputs.

The only reason i came up with this suggestion is due to the rise of inno service scams i've seen.
Why not just make all inno's tradable via @offeruse, thus making inno service redundant? Some may remember, but advanced gollux scrolls were in a similar position a few years ago, wherein they weren't tradable via @offeruse and thus required for a buyer to obtain service. Like inno scrolls, this opened up the buyer to scams. However, they were eventually added it to the list of items which @offeruse can be used on, hence making it "scam-proof".

Why not do the same with innocence scrolls? The only potential consequence that might occur would be a possible devaluation of party quests. However i doubt this will be an issue as party questing also offers bonus potential stamps and superior shield wards, both of which are important resources for progression.

You might have a point on this. But people might say that it's not the same as with inno service, the seller gambles for you.
However if this is implemented, inno prices may just crash, thus rendering the service unfeasible at all anyways.

there is a lot of people who need inno and dont want to do the service/have the funds. plus in this economy nothing is deflating lol

This economy is terrible for new players, period. Inno would be least of their worries. if you join this game now you have to invest in drop gear and mindlessly farm MP just to afford nodestones and be able to train past 200

Merching, bossing, selling rp and other stuff.

red cubes are 300m each now. they used to be worth 60 for 500/m stamp

500/60 = 8 stacks of red to make drop gear

now 1.1 a stamp/ 300 = 3 stacks of red cube. youre not getting 600% drop off that

Stamp hardly went up in price. compared to DP.(they need pvac for Monster park as well) so just to play this game and get your skills with nodestones it requires a lot of effort. ive tried to get many friends into this game and they all quit come 200 ish.

nx was 0.9 now 3.0, bpot cubes you used to farm were 500m ea now 1.5B, so not much different indeed just a shift in the early game of were to farm.
