Hey guys,
Just started playing a few days ago.
First two day everything was great, third day i noticed some wierd stuff going on so i figured redawnload everything an I did.

Now when I try to launch the client my antivirus says it has a "TROJAN" in it called :
Win32/Packed.VMProtect.ABD
Thats really driving me crazy. Already tried to disable the antivirus and exlude for scans on app runs but still keep blocking me/deleting the file.
The weird thing is that I did play 2 days with no problems so It's either im really stupid or my antivirus ain't working properly...(2 days played the game and didn't find the "TROJAN", oh really ?)
I'd love to get some help.
Thx

P.s my antivirus is eset nod32

It's a false positive, the file is safe to use. Have you tried adding the whole AriesMS folder as exception? Also, make sure Windows Defender has been turned off and it's necessary to double check the files be sure that both antivirus mentioned aren't deleting any of the files.

As mentioned, do try adding an exclusion for the entire folder that you're using for AriesMS for both ESET and Windows Defender.

Hey.
Thx for the reply.
Now it seems the antivirus astoped deleting the ariesmsclient and only block it when I try to run it.
I did both of the things your guys said.
Here is the error I get :
5192

I'll traslate.
1)(Red line) - threat was removed.
2&3) threat (win32/packed.vmprotect.abd) was found in a file that "DotNet" tried to acces.
4) acces denied.
last lineis for a link to explain about the "virus".
Do u have any idea ?

My brother was having the exact same issue with ESET as you so I did a lot of digging and experimentation to finally get it to work.

First thing I did was to add another exclusion as the detection name along with excluding the folder (so in this case add the exclusion with detection name being Win32/Packed.VMProtect.ABD without having a path mask set). After doing this, the Aries.exe file should hopefully load up and you will be able to log in again without ESET blocking it.

Another issue that happened afterwards was that the game itself would seem to load and then close before even fully opening after logging in. Found out that the firewall was also blocking it. You could either disable the whole firewall or go into adding firewall rules and allowing each .exe file within the Maplestory folder.

The game should hopefully work for you afterwards.
