Is there any way to disable the song that plays during the spotlight skill? I'd rather just listen to the background music than have the song play. Is there any setting I can toggle in game? Or is there any file I can delete in the game files (for a client sided change), or would that fall under illegal .wz edits?

This is actually the best part of the class, if you (or any one else) are unable to appreciate you have no business playing AB as you are not truly an Angelic Buster capable of captivating the Maple World and inspiring them in the fight against the Black Mage.
(its probably going to require wz edits which WILL be illegal). You can disable SFX or BGM, I forgot which. But you cannot disable spotlight alone.
