As you get through the Arcane River, you'll get them reduced. Something along the lines of if you finish the questline of Chu Chu, then your Vanishing Journey will reduce by one. Finish Lachelein and Vanishing Journey (and Chu Chu?) will again reduce by one. And it keeps going until Esfera, where the least amount of quests you can have is 2 for Morass and 3 for Esfera atm.
