Cool Poro's Guide to drugged tower climbing (Tower of Oz 1-40)

Greetings! Since a lot of people have started reaching F39+ and people on discord keep asking me (dammit Keiji), I have decided to write a guide so that you guys who aspire to climb Oz but are too lazy to figure it out yourself can do so! Also, S/O to Timmy(Dragonmaze/Capricorn) for being best Oz climber in Aries and teaching me in my early Oz days.

    Oz Basics

The Tower of Oz is a 50 Floor map-series in which you, the player, must do a series of Kill Quests, Jump Quests, Escorts, Trivia, and solve puzzles. Whenever you run out of time, choose to leave the tower, or clear the tower, you will be given Oz points, experience, and a numbered rank box depending on which floors you cleared. For every 5 floors, you go up 1 rank in reward boxes up to Rank 1. Only boxes that are Rank 1-3 have a chance to give Prime Scrolls, and only boxes Rank 1-2 are able to give Ryude Swords. All boxes have a chance to give Oz Point Pouches, Spell Traces, and Mounts that don't work 95% of the time. Players may only attempt at total of 200 floors a day. Every floor that ends in a 5 or a 0 will also give you a special medal. They don't have the best of stats, but there are some cool medal names in them.

After every run, you will have your highest floor and time added to rankings. Based on your ranking, you will gain a 5 day temporary emblem. You will receive a Tier 3 emblem for placing in 6-20, a Tier 2 emblem for placing in ranks 2-4, and the Tier 1 emblem for placing at #1 ranking for the week. The rank requirements may have been fixed by nova to match what the NPC says, but I am not 100% sure, so pm me if is the case.

One of the most important things in Oz is the Clever Lady Hotline, aka the Helper Item. This item will be required on some floors as well as giving you the option to quit whenever you want. You can obtain this by talking to Alicia's Soul in the Tower of Oz lobby by selecting "Talk to Alicia's Soul", then "I want the helper item". If you ever lose the item cause you trashed it or npced it, you can just pick up another from Alicia for free.

The Most important things in Oz however, are the drugs pills that we will be taking. Much like real drugs, the more we take, the higher we get. Unlike real drugs however, we can't overdose nor take as many as we want. The purpose of these pills are to give us more time in the tower.

Initially without pills, we are only allowed to stay in for 10 minutes, however each pill (depending on type) will allow us to stay in the Tower for 2/5/8/13/16 minutes longer (for prescription pills). You can only use as many pills as you have pill slots. All players will start with 0 pill slots, but can buy their first one for a cheap price of 5m. The other pill slots cost 10/28/55/80 thousand Oz points as well as 10/28/55/80 million Mesos for a total of 5 pill slots, which means the maximum amount of time we can get is 1 hour 30 minutes. As far as pills go, only buy the prescription ones. They give you significantly more time than the generic ones, and the only upside to generic pills are that they are tradeable. You can buy pills at Glenda, the Witch Shop in the lobby.

Finally, there are practice tickets for Oz these allow you to go to any floor (excluding rest floors and boss floors, why the fuck do you wanna practice a rest floor) below floor 40 that you have cleared before and do a practice run. Keep in mind however, each practice run will take up one of your 200 runs for the day, and any time reducing penalties that you incur in the tower will still be applied. If you have Pills equipped before you use a practice ticket, your pills will be consumed and extra time will be given to your practice run, so be careful not to waste your pills.

It is advised you use a pet vac for Oz as it is both a great way to gain old maple coins/leafs/whatever drops due to all the kill x number of mob floors as well as being helpful for certain floors where you have to loot. It is also recommended you use a soul that has a summon skill on your weapon as the soul is greatly helpful in clearing mobs.

    Floor to Floor Guide

Range Required to reach F40: Minimum 200k.

Note: Any floor that ends in the number 5 will be a rest floor, a place where you can just afk/buff, therefore they will not be in the floor guide. HOWEVER, be warned that on rest floors, your ranking time will keep ticking.

WARNING: Dying or failing an escort while inside Oz will cause your floor ranking to not be saved as well as not giving you the box, oz points, and exp based on how far you got. This has been reported numerous times but has yet to be fixed.

As for the floors beyond 40, I'll leave you guys to explore and learn them yourselves :P This guide already explains 80% of the Tower, I'm sure you guys can figure out the last 20%. If you have any questions, feel free to leave it in a reply to this guide and I'll answer it whenever I see it!

Thanks for this. I'm sure this will lead to some more people doing Tower of Oz, although I hope someone can also finish this guide

I personally have not had this issue. I have heard, however, that Night Lord's assassin's mark triggers (which cannot be turned off apparently btw, so bug report that :P) can hit the NPC since the NPC also has an HP bar, so it may be that.

Florina Beach (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gIvEdxeOZc) is one of the BGMs missing from your list that I've encountered. I've also hit another BGM of which I have no idea the town it belongs to, but will record if I run into it again!

The Ariant theme that I've encountered in-game is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9CYYgoZVAo , and not the one you have linked in the playlist, not sure if there's both?

Also, the Nautilus in-game is actually the music inside the ship, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZ8LtJlzvyU, and not the main theme.

    Thanks again for the guide!
